On May 20 Pakistani officials said that the material published on Twitter, blaspheming the Prophet Muhammad, Pakistan blocked it on its own territory.
As Muhammad Yasin the head of the Pakistan telecommunications administration said, the Pakistan Department of Information Technology has ordered to close the site. After receiving this order, the telecommunications administration took immediate measures to implement it. He noted that the Pakistani government previously demanded to stop the discussions about the Prophet Muhammad on Twitter, but Twitter has refused to comply with this requirement.
The Pakistan Ministry of Information Technology also ordered that the telecommunications administration of the country continued to remain vigilant and to block all links to sites that contain blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad.As previously published on the website Facebook comics with blasphemy on religious topics, the Pakistani government blocked the site in 2010.
