Censorship in Google inevitable

Western governments, including the United States, intensifying their efforts to censor searches on the Internet and videos YouTube, says transparency report (a report on transparency), published by Google.

"It is alarming not only because of the fact that is threatened freedom of speech, but also because some of these requests come from countries that you would never suspect this, because the Western democracies are usually not associated with the censors' - wrote in his blog, Dorothy Chow, a senior analyst with Google.

"For example, in the second half of last year, Spanish regulators have asked us to remove 270 search results related to blogs and newspaper articles relating to certain individuals and politicians, including mayors and prosecutors. In Poland, we received a request from a public institution with a request to remove links to the site, criticized the agency. None of these requests, we are not done. "
In the second half of 2011, the U.S. authorities requested Google to remove posts from 6192 individual search results, blog posts or video files. This is 718% more than 757 inquiries in the first half of 2011.
Results from the police and the courts Google received 187 requests from the removal of content. In one case, the police asked Google to remove blog, where to speak ill of one of the employees. Google did not fulfill the request. In another case, the police asked to remove video from YouTube in 1400 because of suspicions of abuse.
In Canada, the Office for issuance of passports asked to remove the video, in which "a Canadian citizen a passport urinates and washes it down the toilet."
Governments are also turning to google to provide access to the database users by Google, and in many cases, Google is heading to the authorities. In the latter half of 2011, Google received 6321 of these requests and granted them 93% of cases. In general, these requests were related to the investigation of criminal offenses.
Google has been criticized for what it says little about his cooperation with the National Security Agency after the attack China on its system in 2010. The company must also give a report on its activities in connection with the recently adopted Act on the structure of cybersecurity.
Thus, free and unregulated network is not so free.
